In this course we will discuss our sensory needs and how differences in sensory processing can impact our ability to regulate. We all know about the five main senses but having a knowledge of the lesser known three, can really help us understand children. Sensory differences form part of many neurodivergent children’s profile and so by learning about the brain and body responses to everyday stimulus, it can help us understand children’s behaviours. You will then gain a knowledge of the accommodations and adaptions you can provide, to minimise sensory overwhelm.
